I am trying to think of a good name to give this post every week. I guess I will try out several until one resonates with me, but for now, I will just call it Paige's thoughts. Though, this is way more than just that. One thing I know for sure, I can't sit around and wait until the perfect name comes to me because that could take the rest of my life. It has been a less than adventurous week but the story will go on!
1. What paintings I am working on this week.
Friends- it has been a slow week as far as done paintings. Jesse is the only one I finished completely this week. I have been playing around with actual skin tone colors to see what I personally think and also gauge the response to it from my Instagram. The verdict is still out.

2. What went down in my sketchbook this week.
This book is strictly for playing around and see if I can come up with anything interesting that I woul like to move forward on. Its always wildly different. Many times I am over inspired by other artists and I just want to see if I can do the same thing, but in my style. More times than not, it falls flat but I at least got it out of my system.

3. What is rocking my face off this week.
Since most of my social media time is spent on Instagram, I like sharing who I find inspiring on Instagram this week. You should totally follow them if you feel the same.

So color and free abstract faces- what is not to love here? Follow her

I tried a 2D table scene this week-- it hasn't seen the light of day because I let my family dictate my thoughts sometimes. I might get brave enough to show it off soon but in the meantime, check out this artist and follow her.

Last one! I love the use of blue, yellows and oranges in his palette. They are also my favorite paint colors. He paints using oil and did recently make fun of acrylic paint--- but that is OK- still love him, Follow him.
4. What is floating my boat this week (none of this is sponsored)
Book: Glucose Revolution
Netflix: Pieces of Her
I am about to leave after I am done with post and give my 4th tour at the Naval Academy. It has definitely been a slow paced job but I appreciate being able to leave the house and do something productive several days out of the week. Staying locked up in the studio day after day is just not healthy for me personally. While the heat and humidity are challenging, I love meeting people who want to know more about the Academy. Yesterday I got 5 miles of walking in just doing my job.
5. My ADD kicks in right about now
A- Looking to buy some tailgating gear- a pop-up tent and more chairs, a table. Been looking around to see other people's set ups. We go to all of Navy homegames, but these items would get a lot of use.
B- I've decided that I need to step out of my comfort zone more so I've decided that I am going to add golf and pickleball into my life. I put it out on social media and lots of people gave me their 2 cents. The main one is to get lessons. I'm starting tomorrow.
C-Why did I wake up today and decide I should somehow provide a service where I can bring local college kids (Navy and St. John's) care packages for when they are sick. Or something really fun for their birthdays. When my youngest was in school, it was like pulling teeth trying to get something cool delivered to her on campus. When she was sick, It wasn't easy finding a service to run to the grocery store and pick up some necessities that she needed fairly quickly. While there are more options today- I feel like I could do it better. Who knows.... still thinking.
D- I also spent some time trying to find local hiking groups. It is one thing I really enjoy and don't get to do nearly enough of.
It's wild being me.
